When Demi Lovato's Neon Lights Tour kicks off in Vancouver on Sunday she will have an old friend on board to keep her arrangements on point: Nick Jonas. Yes, that Nick Jonas. The former Jonas Brothers singer has booked his first new gig since the sibling band announced their split
 in October.
Nick, 21, told Rolling Stone that he will be the musical and creative director of Lovato's tour, a gig he accepted right around the time that he and his brothers decided to throw in the towel.

Nick Will Bring The Party Non-Stop
"I'm overseeing video content, wardrobe, lighting and staging," Jonas told the magazine. "And then I'm extending into the musical side of things, which includes creating the arrangements for the songs. I'm building what Demi wanted, which is a show without stops and starts."
You might recall that the JoBros broke up after Nick reportedly shared his concerns with Joe and Kevin about the band's future. The guys admitted there was a "deep rift" within their ranks and a "big disagreement over their music direction." There seems to be no such disagreement between Nick and his former Disney "Camp Rock" co-star. They share a manager, which is how the team-up formed.
Friends From Way Back
The gig is just the latest collabo between the two, who've been helping each other out for nearly a decade. Lovato was one of the stars of the JoBros' 2008 "Camp Rock" Disney movies and she served as the opening act on their Burnin' Up Tour that year.
The brotherly trio also helped co-write the majority of the songs on Lovato's 2008 debut album, Don't Forget. Lovato was back as Mitchie Torres for 2010's "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam," and she sang on "Can't Back Down" and "Wouldn't Change a Thing" for the soundtrack.
"I was immediately excited when I was offered the position," Nick said. "The relationship that Demi and I had over eight years really gives me the insight into how to best communicate with her and her team."
What's He Planning?
Nick said the shows will feature songs from all four of Lovato's studio albums, with an emphasis on reimagining some of the tunes to give them a fresh vibe. After two weeks of rehearsals with the band, Jonas said he thinks he's gotten the right vibe down.
"The biggest challenge has been just trying to rethink some of the music and see how we could compliment it with lights and video," he said. I sat down with the band and said to them, 'You need to step into this like it's a new gig. None of these arrangements are going to sound like the originals, so you need to have an open mind.'"
Though he'll be on hand for the Vancouver kick-off, Jonas said he won't necessarily be on hand for every show.
What's Next For The Brothers?
Brushing off any talk of a reunion just months after the break, Nick said he'll get back to work on his solo album after the tour gets going. "Some of it is done and ready to be released," he said of his official follow-up to 2004's self-titled solo debut.
"I've got a lot of things in the pipeline right now and I'm waiting to release some news about my music and my next steps," he said.
The youngest Jonas isn't the only one keeping busy. Eldest bro Kevin, 26, celebrated the birth of his daughter Alena Rose
with wife Danielle on Super Bowl Sunday.
Middle sibling Joe, has kept somewhat quiet since the parting of ways, outside of a revealing interview
he gave to Vulture in December, where he discussed the first time he smoked pot, losing his virginity and dished dirt on the band's ugly breakup.
He's also talked about further exploring his R&B influences on the follow-up to his disappointing solo debut, 2011's Fastlife, and possibly producing for other acts.
